About Us
Our team creates beautifully designed, expertly fitted kitchens and furniture from our workshop in the heart of Suffolk.
Owner, Andy Vale, has been handcrafting kitchens and furniture for over 35 years and established Vale Designs in 2002. Today, our specialist team makes bespoke kitchens for the smallest of country cottages to the grandest of country houses.
Our Suffolk Workshop
Dovetailing each client’s needs with the possibilities presented by a space and budget, we design and make practical working kitchens and furniture of great integrity and style.
At the heart of everything we do is our quaint, yet perfectly proportioned workshop nestled along the Suffolk Heritage Coast in Aldringham. Formerly a blacksmith’s, we’re proud to say that our workshop continues in the craftsmanship it has long been accustomed to.
Meet Our Team
The creation of an outstanding kitchen requires seamless teamwork and meticulous planning. Combining the finest cabinetry skills and fanatical attention to detail is what we do best. At a glance, here’s a little about each of us.
Andy Vale
Director & Designer
Andy’s love of woodwork started at school, which led him to become an apprentice cabinetmaker at the age of 16. Over the past 35 or so years, he has truly mastered his craft in producing beautiful kitchens and furniture.
Angie Vale
Accounts & Marketing
Angie, Andy’s wife, looks after Vale Designs’ marketing and accounts and applies the same attention to detail as Andy and the team do to their designs. She is also very pleased to finally have one of Andy’s kitchens at home.
Jason Howes
Cabinet Maker
Jason is very much part of the furniture. He completed his YTS in furniture making in 1992 and obtained a City and Guilds in cabinet making from Norwich College before working at local cabinetmakers and joining us in 2004.
Matt Fleet
Cabinet Maker
After completing a City and Guilds in cabinet making from Ipswich College in 1998, Matt worked for a local antique furniture reproduction company before joining us in 2014.
Daniel Jennings
Painter & Finisher
Daniel is Andy’s nephew. He studied Art and Design at Suffolk One before joining our team in 2017 to take over as a finisher from his late grandad, Alec.
David Rayner
Fitter
David has been involved in the kitchen industry for over 25 years and specialises in fitting handmade kitchens. He has been working with us since 2011 but Andy has known him for over 20 years.
